Holy Land Fátima, Portugal

Centenary Celebration of Marian Apparition at Fatima It was 1917 time of World War I.  On may 13 the three children Lucia(10) Francisco Marto(8) and his sister(7) as they were grazing their sheep Mother Mary appeared to them at Fatima of Portugal. There after  consecutively on the 13 th of   every month Mother Mary appeared to the children. Initially people of the place didn’t believe in what the children said. But slowly the crowd swelled to witness the apparition. On  October 13 th of that year a crowd of one hundred thousand gathered to witness the miracle. It was around midday amidst the pouring rain the children and the people witnessed the apparition along with the unusual dance of Sun. Message in the apparition: a call to pray continuously for the war to get over, turn back from sinful life, repentance. Former MLC Octavia Albuquerque NO More

  Mangalore:Former MLC Octavia Albuquerque passed away on Wednesday, March 9 in a private hospital in city.She was 92.Octavia Albuquerque was member of Karnataka legislative council from 1970 to 1972. She was member of Congress party. 4 tourists Saved panambur Beach

Mangalore:Sept 12: 4 tourists were saved from drowning at Panambur beach today morning at 6.45 am by our lifegaurds. They were 7 members arrived from Bangalore today morning. They are residents of Tin factory layout working for MPHASIS .Vishwanath Swami  aged 25 yrs s/o Kashidhar, Sunil s/o Narasimha age 23 yrs, Suhas s/o Suresh age 21 yrs and Karthik s/o Chandrappa age 24yrs. The Lifegaurds were assisted by Mr.Francis D'souza a shopkeeper at the beach. Till now 154 lives have been saved by our lifeguards till date.

Former police officer B J Bhandari Nomore

Udupi: An accident at Brahmavar on Monday June 1 claimed the life of a former police officer. The deceased has been identified as retired deputy superintendent of police (DySP) Beltangady Jaya Bhandary (66). It is said that on Monday, he had been to attend a function in connection to a relative's wedding at a hall in Brahmavar along with another person identified as Rama Bhandary. They were standing near Mahesh hospital, ready to cross the road, when a Wagon R hit him. A seriously injured Bhandary was rushed to Mahesh hospital and then taken to KMC, Manipal, where he breathed his last. The car was moving from Udupi towards Kundapur. Its driver Abdul Rahim has been arrested. A case has been registered in Brahmavar police station. Bhandary, who joined the police department in 1979, was serving Mangaluru district crime intelligence bureau in the capacity of deputy superintendent of police at the time of retirement in 2011. DRI Mangalore seized 16.990 tons red sanders valued at Rs. 6,79,60,000

Mangalore.Aug:21:Based on the credible intelligence, the officers of DRI Mangalore seized 16.990 tons red sanders valued at Rs. 6,79,60,000/- (as per the prevailing market value for export)  from a container No. GESU 3039340 at NMPT, Mangalore. The said container was at first instance loaded to per vessel M.V. Tiger Mango V.130  and was exported by declaring the goods as ‘Mysore Detergent Cake’ destined for Sharjah and that the said ship sailed out on 09.08.2014 from New Mangalore Port to Colombo Port via Goa port Based on the specific intelligence about concealment of contraband goods in the said container,  the same was called back from Colombo port.  The said container was not offloaded at Colombo as per instruction of DRI and was kept on board the vessel.  The same vessel arrived at New Mangalore Port on 18.08.2014 and off loaded the  container today, ie, 20.8.2014. Delayed commissioning of project causes losses to MRPL

Mangalore,Feb.10: The Board of Directors of Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited, a subsidiary Company of ONGC and a Category I Mini Ratna, approved its un-audited results for the third quarter of Financial Year 2013-14. The loss for the third quarter of 2013-14 stood at 248 crore as against loss of 360 crore in the corresponding quarter of last year.               The progressive commissioning schedule of MRPL Phase III Expansion project is delayed, The last three major secondary processing units viz Delayed Coker unit/Coker Hydro Treater and Petroleum Fludic catalyst cracking unit including power plant are remaining to be commissioned.  The overall project progress as on 15th January, 2014 is 99.50 %.  The work progress of CPP by BHEL continues to be a major factor for delayed commissioning of units.  The overall progress of Polypropylene Project has reached 93.40 % as on 15th January, 2014.   FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE REVIEW AND ANALYSIS: The Throughput fo
